I'm Chloe and I'm 18, I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia when I was one. I've been in remission for 15 yrs but I got severe complications from my bone marrow transplant and something called Bronchiolitis Obliterans. Due to the progression the BO in my lungs, I needed a double lung transplant in June of 2022. However, I developed organ rejection (BO once again) and unfortunately also end stage lung failure. I was then deemed terminal. The only potential of a treatment, although not a cure, is a repeat double lung transplant.
With all the major risks aside, the financial burden of the whole process is incredibly overwhelming. I have been admitted in the hospital since November, and I will continue staying until I receive my new lungs and during my recovery. The timeline of how long my stay will be is unexpected and all of the funds will be used for housing, food, travel costs, out of pocket medical fees, etc.
Any amount is greatly appreciated and I am so thankful for all the support!
