Hi all, I recently had an unexpected medical situation that led to medical bills that I wasn’t prepared for.
On January 7th I found out that I was 5 months pregnant despite being on birth control and having no pregnancy symptoms. My water had broken prematurely which caused health risks for both me and my baby. Only eight days later on January 15th I gave birth to my daughter. At 22 weeks old she was unable to survive outside my womb and passed immediately.
I am continuing to have health problems after her birth. Parts of my placenta were left inside my body putting me at risk for hemorrhaging, infection, and heart problems. I was not told that I had a higher risk of this happening to me so I also wasn’t told what symptoms to look for. After a month of constant pain, bleeding and multiple emails to my doctors with my concerns, they finally brought me in for additional tests. I had been right to be concerned and had to leave work immediately to go to the ER for an emergency procedure. After this procedure I am still having health complications and have more appointments in my future.
There are no words to describe the grief, pain, anger and anxiety this experience has caused for my daughters dad and me. I didn’t work the entirety of January, and am still not back to my regular work schedule. I am two months behind on rent. I also haven’t even begun to look for affordable therapy yet so if anyone has any suggestions for that please let me know! This has been an extremely costly experience and I thought I could handle it, but I think it’s time to ask for help.
I have set up this gofundme to help me with my current medical bills, rent, and my daughters cremation cost. Literally anything helps and even if you can’t donate, please share the post with people you know.
Thank you all ❤️
