Hi everyone,

As some of you may have heard by now this past Friday I underwent gender affirming top surgery.

Unfortunately, I was informed just days before my operation that my insurance would cover a significantly smaller portion of my operation than what I was initially quoted and had budgeted for.

I'm grappling with the financial ramifications of this surgery and will admit I have had reservations asking for help due to internalized self doubt about my dysphoria.

However, this procedure was psychologically necessary, and one I have been working hard to arrange for over a year. Anything helps, and I am incredibly grateful to feel so supported by all of my friends and family.

I am asking for financial assistance to help fund food, transportation, but mostly housing needs (rent and utilities), as I will be unable to return to work for the next 4-6 weeks.
