Help Chloe Get to Nationals with Her High School Rowing Team

Last fall, Chloe joined the rowing team at Plant High School in Tampa.
She’d never rowed before. None of the eight ninth-grade girls had.

They couldn’t keep the boat steady. They finished last. Everything was new.
But they kept showing up—after school during the week and on Saturday mornings.

By spring, things started to click.
They found their rhythm. They rowed in sync.
Race after race, they got faster—shaving 25 seconds off their time between regattas.
They finished second in Florida among scholastic rowing teams, earning a spot at the 2025 National Championships in New Jersey.

It’s a rare achievement—something that’s only happened a handful of times for a novice freshman team in Plant High’s 26-year program history.

And they’re not just going to Nationals—they’re going as serious contenders.
Plant’s time ranks among the fastest in the field, just behind the top seed. They’re within striking distance of the podium, with real momentum behind them.

Here’s who they’ll line up against at the SRAA Nationals Regatta on the Cooper River:

This novice freshman team didn’t get the memo—they’re not just here to compete. They’re here to race.
Based on their qualifying time, they’ve got a real shot at medaling. They’re among the fastest in the field—within a second of the top seed.

Now, Chloe needs help getting there.

Rowing is an official sport at Plant High School, but it receives no financial support from the school or district. Because of the high costs and limited athletic budgets, the team was set up decades ago as a parent-run nonprofit—making it fully self-funded through monthly dues and fundraising.

A trip to Nationals wasn’t part of the freshman season’s budget—so now, each rower must raise their share to make it happen.

She started as a beginner. Now, she sits Stroke—the rower who sets the pace, anchors the rhythm, and leads the boat from the front.
It’s rowing’s version of a shortstop: precise, composed, and central to the crew’s success.
She’s not just holding Stroke—she’s owning it. With growing endurance and sharp race awareness, she’s putting it all together.

Chloe has earned her seat. She’s earned this shot. Now she just needs a little help getting to the start line.

If you believe in what sports teach—
about grit, teamwork, leadership, facing adversity, and growing through it—
and in backing a young woman who shows up and steps up,
then you’re already part of Chloe’s story.

Every bit helps.
Every share makes a difference.
Thank you for helping Chloe take the next step.
