Chloe's Journey: From Amputation to Healing

Donation protected
Just a thank you to everyone who sent prayers and donations to help Chloe in her battle with cancer. But unfortunately the vet has just confirmed the cancer has moved to her lungs.
We are waiting for second opinion from cancer specialist and Chloe has been started on steroids but advised that typically when it's moved to lungs not much they can do.
We know this is in God's hands and what is meant to be will be.
Two weeks since Chloe's first cancer treatment and she's handling things like a trooper. No major side effects. She did have the night after the treatment she was a little whiney but nothing since. Chloe's stitches and staples were all removed and healing up nicely.
Thank you to all those who were able to donate and those praying for Chloe's fully recovery.
Chloe just had her first cancer treatment. The veterinarian says that there should not be any side affects. So keeping a close eye on our little spit fire.
She goes back in 30 days for her second treatment.

Hello, my name is Wanda and I am Chloe's mom.

Chloe is a 15-month-old Dutch Shepherd who loves to play with her buddy Loki, snuggling, and treats.

Four weeks ago (early April), Chloe started favoring her front left leg. We initially thought this was from playing full force with Loki. We took her to our veterinarian, and she was diagnosed with a strained muscle and sent home with pain meds. A week later, she developed swelling of the left wrist (just above the paw). We took her to the veterinarian again, and an X-ray of her wrist showed a growth the size of a golf ball.

When the results came back, the initial diagnosis was a possible fungal infection. A series of urine analyses were done, but they came back negative.

Chloe was then referred for a bone biopsy. We were advised that it could take up to 10 days to get results back.

As we waited anxiously for results, Chloe's leg started swelling even more at the site of the biopsy, to the point it had doubled in size.

We were desperately calling the veterinarian, concerned with this new development and that Chloe was at a point that even with pain medication she just couldn't get comfortable.

The veterinarian called back and had us bring her in first thing the following morning.

When the veterinarian came into the room to see us, they had just gotten the bone biopsy results back. Our worst fear was confirmed, it is bone cancer. They did an X-ray of her chest to ensure the cancer had not spread to her lungs. When the X-ray confirmed that the cancer had not spread, the decision had to be made to have her left front leg amputated to keep the cancer from spreading.

Everyone at the veterinarian's office told us what a trooper Chloe was throughout the whole procedure. They said she is so sweet and just wanted to cuddle.

Chloe's adventure doesn't end there. In two weeks, she will go back to not only have her stitches removed but to have a cancer treatment to help keep the cancer from returning.

We are only looking to raise funds to help alleviate the cost of veterinary visits, tests, medication, amputation, and cancer treatment.

If there is anything raised above our goal, it will be donated to animal cancer research.

We appreciate any assistance that you are able to give.
