Chloe's Health Recovery
Donation protected
OVERVIEW
My sweet kitty Chloe was recently hospitalized with a sudden Stage 4 kidney disease diagnosis. After emergency care and a miracle turnaround, she’s now stable but still facing risks from bladder stones and a past infection. Her ongoing treatment is expensive (over $10k so far), and we need help covering the next steps. If you’re able to donate or share, it would mean the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
CHLOE’s STORY
Chloe is my soul kitty—sweet, gentle, and full of love. In February, she was diagnosed with what we thought was just asthma, but a vet visit revealed something much scarier: Stage 4 kidney disease.
The news came out of nowhere. She’d only just started seeming a little off—eating less, a bit nauseous. I was told it could be end-stage renal failure or possibly a rare case where another issue was making things look worse. I took a leap of faith and admitted her to an emergency clinic for fluids, meds, and an ultrasound.
That decision may have saved her life.
A specialist found bladder stones and a kidney infection, which had pushed her condition from chronic to acute—what’s known as “acute on chronic kidney disease", which caused a sudden decline in kidney function. With treatment, her kidney levels started improving. She went from Stage 4 to Stage 3… and one number even dropped into Stage 2 territory.
Now, Chloe is stable—but not out of the woods.
Her infection seems to be gone, but the bladder stones remain. And those stones may be hiding bacteria that could bring the infection back. Surgery isn’t an option for her, so the next step is a special dissolution diet (that unfortunately stresses the kidneys) with close monitoring every few weeks. Each visit runs about $1000, not including her food, fluids, and meds.
To date, her care has exceeded $10k. I’ve done everything I can to give her a chance—and she’s fighting so hard to stay here with me.
Chloe truly is a miracle. The vet and I both believe she has more love, snuggles, and sunny windows in her future.
If you can donate or share Chloe’s story, it would help us make it through this next phase and give her the long life she deserves.
With love and gratitude,
