Hey y’all. My name is Miranda. My sweet heart-cat Chloe was recently seen for ongoing GI issues. The suspected cause is GI Lymphoma. After an initial diagnostic visit costing $2,000 we need to do a biopsy to confirm before she can start chemo. The estimate for this surgery is $4,500-5,500. After that, oral chemo will be an additional cost. My vet requires all payments up front, which makes me ineligible for a lot of pet care relief services. Any amount helps as I try to navigate this and finding us a new living situation before our lease ends in January.
About Chloe: Chloe is 13 years young. I adopted her when she was 4 years old after her previous owner passed away. She’s been with me through college, jobs, break ups, moves, everything. She’s my best friend. And I owe her everything I can give her. After consulting with her vet about whether treatment would be viable given her age and low weight from GI issues, I was assured cats often respond very well to the oral chemo used to treat small cell lymphoma. My ultimate goal is to do whatever she needs to be comfortable and happy. We’ve been dealing with these issues for almost a year now and I can tell it makes her uncomfortable most of the time. I hope that by moving forward with this treatment that she can enjoy her senior years pain free.
Thank you.
