Chloe, Mauled Cat Needs Surgeries

Donation protected
Update, Sunday August 17:

In an unexpected turn of events, Chloe has decided she wasn’t willing to go through any more.

This morning at 9:50 the doctor called me and told me that things had taken a turn. Chloe had rolled over and stopped breathing on her own. They had her on respiration equipment and he said now would be the time to say goodbye. He asked if he should defibrillate her if her heart stops and I said no, she wants to go. By the time I had gotten to the clinic she had already passed. She was lying on a blanket and looked so peaceful. I stayed for a good long while and pet her, crying into her fur and talking to her.

In my heart of hearts, I know that all she ever wanted was to come and go as she pleased. After all, she wasnt willing to go through with recovery. She loved nothing more than to “go outside” and I feel this was her only way to do that under such traumatic circumstances.

I’m going to miss her for the rest of my life. She was my soul cat.

Words can’t express my gratitude to all of you for your love and support. Your donations will go to the care she’s received so far, any funeral costs, legal fees and unexpected expenses related to this nightmare. I love you all.

You might recognize Chloe from around Adams Square Apartments. On Friday the 15th, she was mauled by a dog and is currently in intensive care for a shattered foreleg, broken ribs, and a broken jaw. Her organs appear to be intact and vitals are good, but she will need orthopedic surgeries, lots of medication, and checkups.

This girl is my world. She’s been my closest companion for 7, almost 8 years since I adopted her. Her favorite things are people, adventures, grass, sunlight, and me, her human.

She’s the most intelligent, happy cat I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing, and aside from these horrific injuries, she’s been in excellent health. I know we still have years ahead of us together, and I’m asking for anything you can spare to help.

She deserves the best things in life, and it’s a miracle that she came out with such a positive prognosis according to the emergency vet.

So if all you can do is pray, we want that too.
