Hello!

I am a member of the Pittsburgh Riveters SC, and I am honored to share that I have created the Chloe Kuminkoski Glioma Research Fund to support pediatric brain cancer research at local Children’s Hospitals in Pittsburgh. This cause is deeply personal to me, as I unite my two passions of soccer and medicine to help the inspirational fight of these children and in memory of my fellow classmate, Haley Weiss, who lost her battle to brain cancer in 2021.

Brain cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death in children, with nearly 5,000 children diagnosed in the U.S. each year. Many of these tumors are highly aggressive, and survival rates remain devastatingly low—especially for high-grade gliomas, where less than 10% of children survive beyond five years. Despite these heartbreaking statistics, research remains underfunded, limiting the development of new treatments and hope for a cure.

Since graduating college and working directly in pediatric brain cancer research, I have witnessed firsthand the power of research and awareness in improving care and bringing hope to children and their families.

As I challenge myself through the Pittsburgh Riveters SC inaugural season, I invite you to join me in supporting this cause. Help honor the brave children battling brain cancer every day. While it may seem small, every contribution makes a difference in a child’s life.
