Support Chisom's CELTA Certification Journey

Hello! My name is Chisom (or Uju as some may know me by) and I am fundraising for a CELTA certification.

The CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from Cambridge is a qualification for teaching English as a foreign language. It is the most widely recognised English teaching qualification in the world. My degrees are in social sciences, so I hope to achieve a CELTA certification to help me get qualified to teach English as foreign language.

I am eager to take the CELTA Course because I have a growing interest in teaching and believe this qualification will provide me with the skills needed to become an effective English language teacher.

My academic journey has taken me abroad, which exposed me to different cultures and learning environments, further strengthening my appreciation for language and communication. I have also had the opportunity to engage with primary school pupils as a teaching assistant, which gave me firsthand experience in guiding young learners with English as an additional language, and adapting my teaching style to suit their needs.

I have been offered a place on the CELTA Summer Intensive Course offered by Nottingham Trent University, this will be running from 30th June 2025 till 25th July 2025. The funds requested would be focused initially on tuition fees to secure my place on the course, any additional funds would go towards cost of travel and logistics.
