Chislehurst Matters Election Campaign - 2026
Donation protected
A special message from Alison Stammers, Mike Jack, and Mark Smith - you three Chislehurst Matters ward councillors.
In February 2022, we founded a new political party - Chislehurst Matters. Our aim was to get elected to Bromley Council, to represent the people of Chislehurst.
With the support of many local residents, three months later we were successful!
We argued at the time, and we still believe, that local politics should be about local issues, and not simply a reflection of what happens at Westminster.
Rather than the "Punch and Judy" politics you get from the major political parties, we believe that Chislehurst needs three councillors committed to championing our local area on Bromley Council.
That's why we stood, and that's why we're going to be standing for re-election in May 2026.
In 2022, we set out five pledges to the people of Chislehurst are:
1. We'll be accountable to YOU, and not beholden to a political party
2. We'll hold regular surgeries and provide you with regular reports of our activity
3. At every opportunity, we will champion Chislehurst and focus on the key issues that matter most
4. We will ensure the Chislehurst voice is heard and listened to
5. We'll always be honest – if something isn’t possible, we will say so
We think we've delivered on those pledges, and we will continue to do so.
Running election campaigns cost money. We don't have rich benefactors, big businesses, or trade unions to fund us - all our money comes from individual donations.
If you want us to continue to work for Chislehurst please make a donation if you can - every little helps!
