Children are indeed the future and every child deserves the best start in life to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to have an opportunity to succeed in later life. However, children that find themselves living in the small villages are often overlooked when it comes to early years education. The few that are lucky enough to start primary education at 6/7/8 years old, already find themselves up to 5 years behind on education in comparison to their city counterparts.
Hi, my name is Michael Ndelemani and I am the founder of Chisa Nursery School – a FREE nursery school that aims to provide fundamental early years education to the children of Malawi aged 2 – 5 years old because we believe that #everychildmatters.
Chisa Nursery School was established in 2019 with a single school in Chiradzulu, Malawi. We have since been able to open another branch in Balaka, Malawi and our ambition continues to grow. Since the school was opened in 2019, we have seen over 250 children come through our doors and most of them have moved onto primary education. We have started a great work in Malawi but we now, more than ever, need your help if we are to continue with Chisa Nursery School.
We currently have school buildings that are unfinished, and the children are learning whilst sitting on the concrete floor. Completing the school buildings and providing a comfortable learning environment for our children is our top priority at this time. After that, we want to be able to provide education all year round (due to limited resources, we are currently unable to have the schools open all year round).
The school receives no support from the government, and I have been financially supporting the school using my own income since inception. However, demands continue to grow and we are getting more and more children attending our schools and WE NEED YOUR HELP.
