Help Chico Get Back On His Feet
Donation protected

I deliberated about rescuing a dog from the pound because you never know what you’re going to get.
When I found Chico, he had already been taken there on three separate occasions. He was so emaciated and in such bad shape that I was told he was the kind of dog that would be overlooked. But, he was so sweet and friendly, although he had been dreadfully abused, and he stole my heart.
Unfortunately, he's turned out to be more of a financial responsibility than I had bargained for.
Earlier this month, I noticed he was limping, so I took him to the vet, who diagnosed him with Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) Disease in both hind legs. After calling about 10 different vets who treat this problem, the consensus is that the best surgery for Chico (at his age, for his build) is TPLO, which will cost between $3,500 and $4,500 per leg. That does not include the cost of physical therapy, meds, suture removal, etc; every vet is a little different.
I will need to schedule surgery as soon as possible because he is having major problems walking and standing; even sitting is uncomfortable.
My funds are extremely limited, and any contribution you can make will make a huge difference. Chico means the world to me. We're both so incredibly grateful for your help.
