Chip's Emergency Surgery Fund

Hello everyone, I am starting this fundraiser for my dog Chip. He's an intelligent, affectionate, red Doberman who still acts like a puppy despite being 10 years old. He's special to me; he is my first dog, and I adopted him among his siblings because he was the only one chilling quietly in his mother's doghouse while all the other puppies were vying for my attention. He stood out to me, and I love him dearly. We moved together from when I got him in Hawaii, flew to live in Las Vegas for a couple of years, then road-tripped across the country to our current home in West Virginia.

He is preparing for surgery to remove a foreign mass causing a bowel obstruction. He had been vomiting and not eating for the past two days. Unexpectedly, they also found areas of concern for cancer after doing x-rays and an ultrasound. He was brought to a local veterinary clinic for which I paid a little over $3k, but due to his high-risk surgery, I got referred to and transferred him to a board-certified veterinary surgeon further away. I want to do everything for him, but I can't afford the cost easily on such short notice. Every little bit helps, and I don't expect to meet the goal of the current cost estimate for surgery.
