The ChiMOP Summer Youth Orchestra  is the only free city wide orchestra available to any and all high school students. We started this project four years ago and have been growing ever since. The highlight of each summer is taking a trip to collaborate with youth orchestra programs from other cities. As it is our 5th anniversary this year, we will be travelling farther and longer for an epic trip to Philadelphia. But... we need your help!

This July, 50 amazing young Chicago musicians will embark to Philadelphia to work and perform with students from the acclaimed Play On, Philly program. Some of these kids are seasoned travelers but many have never left the state. Friendships will be made, great music will be shared, and the experience will create memories to last a lifetime. 

We need help getting there. Expenses are high and support for oportunities like this are dwindling. Funds raised from this campaign will help cover the costs of transportation (charter bus) and lodging (dorms).

Traveling with this orchestra each summer is always inspiring. Watching them bond, have fun, work extremely hard, and play with conviction, tenacity, and true passion helps me remain driven to do what I do.
