Chris (AKA Chili) Lee’s Cancer Treatment Fund

Hi, I’m Tiana and my hubby, Eric, makes me cousin and friend to Chili and Sarah. I am fundraising for Chili’s medical bills as he's currently battling cancer and related health issues.

The past few months have been extra challenging for these folks…I think we can all relate to how difficult the past year and half has been; affecting many aspects of life. Chili has had the added difficulty of major illness and many procedures to address his medical issues.

In short, Chili was rushed to emergency following a perforation in his large intestine. After becoming septic multiple times back in 2020, they were eventually able to remove 9 inches of his intestine in April 2021 and he is temporarily (thankfully!) using an ostmy bag while his body heals. He learned that the perforation was due to a cancerous tumor. He just started chemotherapy at the end of June.

In the end, his surgery count will be four, not including the three or four precedures he's had, imaging, meds, fuel to get to and fro appointments (they live in a rural area near Sacramento), medical supplies, and more.

During these times, most of us would rely on the support of medical insurance of our employer. Chili's insurance is not covering all of these expenses and on top of that, his employer has informed them they will need to pay for the insurance premium out of pocket, since he is on Disability (which is already a pay decrease).

In light of all of these details (and there are SO MANY more), including the mental and physical stress and danger this has caused him and his family, and also due to the fact that normal insurance supports are failing them, we write to ask for any financial assistance you can give.

Any amount will go a long way.
