It is with heavy hearts that we share the news our dear friend, Dylan Keith Defrees, passes away on October 20th, 2019, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
A Renaissance Man through and through, Dylan had extraordinary flair and an affinity for the beautiful and unusual. A displaced farm boy, he loved to escape to simpler places with fire pits and peaceful waters, with hopes of one day retiring to the countryside. He filled his free time with painting, writing, archery, gardening, launching pumpkins from catapults he built, and collecting masks from his worldly travels. Dylan cultivated a deep fascination for this world and what lies beyond and was always eager to share an article about a newly discover star, or the latest model of self-driving cars. With an irrepressible passion for life, an impish sense of humor, a whimsical mind, and the noblest of hearts he made for the most wonderful husband, father, son and friend.
Lovingly remembered, Dylan is survived by his current wife Linda Defrees, his five Children, Sahara, Cairo, Zira, Marilyn, and Drexler, his parents, Gail and Duane Defrees, and his three siblings, Brooke, Jess, and Luke Defrees, who all survive him with fond memories and heavy hearts.
