Hi, my name is Mike and I’ve been supporting children and families in Uganda since 2025. In UK children get free education from 4 years old until they are 18 years old, this is not the case in Uganda Education in Uganda is not free. Many children do not go to school because their parents cannot afford it. In Uganda there are 7 years of primary school and it doesn’t matter what age you start P1 you could be 5 or 12 for example. Then they have 6 years a senior school if they can afford to go.
I run East Africa Community Alliance which is a NGO registered in the UK, but to register this is Uganda as an international NGO would cost around £1000 and I’d rather use that money to pay for school fees, with the help of two locals on the ground I’ve established Gormika Foundation Uganda which is a NGO registered in Uganda with the purpose of Education & Water = Opportunity.
Im looking for everyone’s help to dig deep into their pockets, but only if you can afford to and help us give more children an education Primary School cost approx £45 per term (£135 a year) and secondary school costs approx £140 per term (£420 a year) for one child to go to school from P1 to S6 would cost approx £3465 for 13 years of schooling.
if your able to we’re looking to support 5 girls & 1 boy to start Halcyon High School in Soroti and more children to start at Primary Schools across Eastern Uganda.
I’m also seeking support for meal packages for families over Christmas I’ll be flying out to Uganda on 26th December to deliver our annual gifts
