Hey everyone, this is Naomi and Noah!
We are fundraising for a Children's home, that has been faithfully running for 25 years and is very close to our hearts.
This Children's home started as an orphanage for boys, during the Sri Lankan Civil war, at a time when children were left without stability, safety or hope. What started as a response to the crisis, became something far greater; a place of refuge, Christian care and long-term hope for young children coming from deeply broken and/or displaced backgrounds.
In 2005, towards the end of the war, our family moved to Sri Lanka so that we could serve at the Home. This cause isn't something we distantly care about, but mission that our hearts are rooted in and childhood shaped around. We have witnessed how God's ministry, through the Home, has changed the lives of these children.
Over the many years, we have seen 100s of children come through the Home's doors. Many coming with damaged and traumatic environments have been able to find:
- A safe place to call "Home"
- Loving Christian care
- Education and opportunities for a different future
- Spiritual guidance, with discipleship and pray
We have seen these boys encounter not just provision, but the love of Christ.
Sadly, the Home is now facing a very difficult period. Funding has been cut. Without any urgent support, it is now facing the danger of being closed.
However, we have hope that God is not finished with this ministry.
We believe that He is able to provide, and we believe He often moves through His people.
We are asking for your support in 3 ways:
- Give, if you're able to. Every penny will be sent directly to the Children's Home, and its immediate needs.
- Share this page with friends, families, church groups and on your social media.
- Most importantly Prayer. Pray that God is glorified in all this, that His vision be made clear, and that the safety, wellbeing and spiritual growth of each child would be sustained.
This is more than keeping a building open.
It is a refuge.
It is a lifeline.
It is about guarding the lives entrusted to this Home.
And we are trusting God to carry it through this season.
Thank you for standing with us.
With love and gratitude,
Naomi & Noah
