Help Kids with cancer in Memory of Tony Jacabacci

Our Dear Friend Tony bravely fought cancer for five years and went to Heaven yesterday, 10/21/22. His loving family has assured us they and Tony would want donations in his memory to be made to our Just Ducky charity for children with cancer.

Many of you know about Tony's support each year, championing our cause to provide gift cards to children with cancer and helping us raise thousands of dollars for Nick's Birthday each year.

It all began while Nicholas was fighting in 2005; he returned from having had radiation in Boston, where he lost several pounds. Tony made a bet with Nick that if he gained weight, he would wear a Red Sox hat. Being a lifelong Yankee fan that was a big sacrifice, and Nick was an enthusiastic Red Sox Fan. And thus, a partnership was born between these two. I remember the day that photo was taken; we were still in treatment and not out of the woods. Poor Tony had tears in his eyes, and it wasn't because of the Red Sox hat. He was such a tenderhearted man. We smiled and laughed so much, Thank you again, Tony; it felt so good!

The legacy of Tony's generosity and love will be carried on by his family and friends, no doubt. Each donation will be a gift card for children currently in treatment, given to them by the Oncology Child Life team at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. We will deliver the gift cards to the hospital in Memory of Tony.

I can imagine Nick meeting Tony in Heaven with a Yankee hat on his head and a big smile on his face.
