My name is Paul Ross-Adams and I have created this page for my niece and nephew.

My sister, Sarah Visser (nee Ross-Adams), died suddenly on 28th of September 2022; leaving behind her two young children.

Sarah was 39 when she was finally admitted to a hospital in Johannesburg. Sarah had been battling with tumours in her leg and was in constant, debilitating pain. Five hospitals declined to admit her, but at last one did. We hoped surgery would provide some relief and give Sarah the strength needed to tackle the battle ahead. Sadly, Sarah suffered a massive pulmonary embolism and died the day after surgery.

Kyra, 12, and Tyler, 9, are Sarah's children and are being cared for by their grandparents. It was Kyra's birthday the day before Sarah died and her mum had promised to take her out for a birthday lunch. They never got to share that special day.

Life in South Africa isn’t easy. There are constant power outages, water shortages and difficulties accessing health care. Services and safety nets we take for granted do not exist … and my parents, their grandparents, are battling, too.

Sarah may not always have made the best decisions, but she did her best for the children — and we are trying to make sure that Kyra and Tyler are supported.
