Continuing Our Commitment to Teachers and Students
Last year, your generosity helped raise teacher salaries at New Dawning Christian School in San Juan La Laguna by 18%. That meaningful increase made a real difference for teachers who pour into their students each day — but their average salary is still only about $170 per month.
This year, we’re committed to continuing to support increased teacher salaries and taking another small but important step forward by launching student scholarships.
For many families, attending high school in a larger city is only possible with a bit of financial help — and even a small scholarship can open life-changing opportunities.
Every dollar helps us strengthen the school and create lasting opportunity for teachers and students in the community of San Juan La Laguna.
Join us in continuing this story of hope and growth. Keep reading for more about our goals, and how you can help!
What Your Gift Supports
Your gift to this year’s Children of Lake Atitlán End-of-Year Fundraiser will:
✅ Help sustain increased pay for teachers
✅ Launch a student scholarship fund for those continuing their education beyond New Dawning
✅ Support technology upgrades to strengthen learning opportunities
2025 Fundraising Goals
First $5,000 → 100% toward teacher salaries (current rate)
Next $5,000 → 95% toward teacher salaries, 5% toward scholarships
Over $10,000 → 80% toward teacher salary increases, 10% toward scholarships, 10% toward computer upgrades (up to $1,000)
Every dollar beyond our $10,000 goal expands our impact — raising salaries, providing scholarships, and improving classroom technology.
