About Children of Hope
I have just had the extraordinary privilege of visiting and spending a week with Amagara Meron and her sister Susan and with the 26 children they have helped out of a life of abject poverty, starvation, no hope and no future, and given them a home, food, a family atmosphere, an education (with help from sponsors) and hope for the future.
Meron and Susan are amazing and huge hearted women from Kabale Uganda who have taken upon themselves to make a difference in their local community, giving up careers and freedom to be the safe haven for these kids.
What will your support do?
For less than a couple of dinners out (about $650 AUD for a whole year which is $12.50 per week) you can support a child out of poverty and into a future filled with hope and possibility - just what we would want for our own kids.
We need sponsors to commit for the long term, so that these gorgeous kids can start and stay in school to the end of high school. Imagine the slum child who is given hope, food and shelter, and a glimpse of their possible future - only to have that ripped away if a sponsor is only committed for a short time.
Right now the kids as young as 4 need to walk up to 2km in all kinds of weather to get to school, as Meron has no vehicle. I am raising money to purchase a second hand minivan so that Meron and Susan can drive the kids to school.
If anyone would like to know more - to sponsor (through to the end of school) or to donate to help provide food, transport and other necessities, please message me!
Every bit helps and anything donated goes directly to these kids - no admin or overheads!
