Hiii everyone,
In August 2025, I went back to Eritrea.
The hardest thing I saw wasn’t buildings or infrastructure, it was the children.
The children pictured above travelled over 6 hours on foot to work. The oldest was just 8 years old. Some walked that entire distance carrying their 2 year old siblings.
They came to Asmara to sell small items just to help their families survive. At night, they slept on the streets or in churches. No stable education. No real opportunity. Just responsibility far beyond their years.
One child approached me to buy tissues and said two words I will never forget:
“Free us.”
None of us chose the circumstances we were born into. And neither did they.
This year, for my birthday, I’m choosing to give back.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it will go directly to orphanages in Eritrea to support children who deserve safety, care, and real opportunity.
If you can’t give, please share.
Let’s turn a birthday into something bigger than ourselves
