Children in Guatemala - School Kits

Hi friends,

As the school year comes to an end here in Canada, I wanted to share the story of a small elementary school near my hometown in Guatemala.

There are 130 kids enrolled, but some of them sit outside for class because there aren’t enough classrooms in the school (refer to pictures). Their families have to provide everything for school themselves; notebooks, pencils, soap, even toilet paper and fabric for uniforms.

For some families, these costs are simply too much. Their kids stay home, or leave school early to help their parents sell small goods on the streets. Some kids show up without even a pencil or a notebook, trying their best to keep up. I've seen this often with my own eyes during each visit.

In 2023 and 2024 we gave out backpacks, shoes, hygiene kits, and even helped one student finish university. It made a real difference.

Now I want to reach to as many children as we can at this school.

Your support can provide:

✅️ School supplies like notebooks, pencils, crayons, pens, erasers, and geometry sets

✅️ Hygiene kits with toothbrushes, soap, towels, and sanitizer

✅️ Fabric for uniforms (only $4 CAD per yard)

Even $5 or $10 can go far. Just $10 can cover most of what one child needs for a whole year.

I’m working with a teacher at this school to make sure the money helps these kids directly, there are no middlemen, no waste. So let’s help make sure these kids can get the education they deserve.
