Help us EDUCATE a child in Lascahobas, Haiti!

Did you know that half of Haiti's children do not attend school? This is because they do not have access to a school, or are unable to afford the cost of attending one. Agape Project International (L'Ecole Agape de Juampas, Lascahobas) is a 501(c)(3) (EIN# 844164824) dedicated to changing this for the children of Juampas (Lascahobas), Haiti by providing access to a free, high quality education. Currently, our children and their teachers have been using a makeshift space. We want to build a school to provide children in Juampas (Lascahobas) with instruction, school supplies and nutritious food.
We have purchased a small piece of land in Juampas (Lascahobas) but have not yet raised the $325,000 it will cost to build a school for the 200 students we hope to educate. Currently the students are using a church building as their school and use the church pews for their desks and chairs. All the students from the prekindergarten to our older students occupy the same room. We are working towards having a proper school building for them within the next year. We not only want to have class space, we want to ensure the children receive nourishing food daily. In the evening we will offer literacy classes to adults in the community.
For decades we have offered help to Haitian students in Crown Heights by providing school supplies, uniforms, monetary assistance and translation services. We began our endeavor to extend our support to the Haitain community by beginning this project in Juampas (Lascahobas). We have secured school furniture and are hoping to ship the chairs and desks to Haiti in the next month. The cost of shipping will be $3700. We are looking for sponsors to assist with the cost of shipping the container of chairs and desks in time for the new school year. We humbly ask you to consider partnering with us so that we can secure funding that will go a long way to help with the building for the school, the children’s food programme, the adult education program or any other part of our vision to educate the children of Juampas (Lascahobas), all donations are tax deductible.
