Help Feed Child Haven Children
After raising 21 children of their own, 19 adopted from 11 different cultural and country backgrounds, our grandparents, Fred and Bonnie Cappuccino founded Child Haven International with Dr. Nat Shah in 1985.
Child Haven operates nine homes for destitute children – six in India, one each in Nepal, Tibet, and Bangladesh.
Unlike most charities, Child Haven does not receive government or corporate funding. They raise money through a variety of fundraisers such as hosting dinners all around Canada and the US, silent auctions, promotion via newsletters, and mostly, word of mouth. Also, it does not spend any donation money on paid advertisements (i.e. commercials). This is to ensure all proceeds go directly to the cause.
Our goal is to raise money for Child Haven. To give you an idea, at Child Haven's largest home in Kaliyampoondi, India it costs approximately $5,000 CAD per month to provide 350 formerly destitue children and women 3 full meals. Let's see how much money we can raise for the homes!
Every donation helps, big or small. Donations of $25CAD to Child Haven are eligible for tax receipts in Canada, India and the USA.
