Update on Donna:

Donna's surgeon called yesterday with the initial Pathology results.

Donna has a Stage III malignant anaplastic astrocytoma. This usually means fast growing and invasive. About 60% of the the tumor is not removable via surgery. So that's the bad news!!

The silver lining... (hint: there's always a silver lining) is that her particular tumor is IDH mutated. This means that the tumor itself has a genetic mutation which slows it's normal growth, and makes it more susceptible and vulnerable to radiation and chemotherapy.

In the next two weeks we will be meeting with a Radiation Oncologist and a Chemo Oncologist to learn what type of treatment plan options are available. Then once the plan is decided, she will begin treatments around June 25th.

We remain optimistic that this journey will lead to a good place eventually, and we continue to need your prayers and emotional support .

Last week was a physical drain on all of us with long nights and an unexpected 16 hours in ER. But Donna finally got some much needed sleep last night and her fears are much diminished (kind of like the bags under her eyes ).

We trust in our Lord's faithfulness and protection...and we look for a positive outcome.

Keeping the Faith in Midland, MI.
