Hello my name is Chi?ela (Sierra) Jordanna William, I qualified for Miss Canada Globe Petite in Toronto, Ontario this November 2022. I am from Xeni Gwet'in Tsilhqot'in 2014 Supreme Court Of Canada 1st and only Supreme Court of Canada Recognized Aboriginal Title to 1,750 square kms of our Land in B.C. So, there is cost for me to get to Ontario from BC, Cost for dresses, fees and other related needs... My whole reason for running is for Orange Shirt Day Every Child Matters. Orange Shirt story came from my area neighbouring indigenous lady. Canada recognized Orange Shirt Day Every Child Matters, by making September 30th National Holiday as part of residential school reconciliation. My father, his siblings, and his parents been in Residential School. My mother been in day school, same impacts but in her community where school were runned by Catholic Church. I want to make a difference, I am in my 3rd year University into Social Worker & Counselling. I also taking after my grandma, sewing ribbon dresses, ribbon shirts, pow wow regalia, outfits and more... I want to put us out there, that we Tsilhqot'in, Indigenous and Women can make a difference in our Country. Since our Title Win, we working on a lot of things including and more importantly bringing back our Tsilhqot'in indigenous Laws, Language, Culture, and more back into our communities & nation.
