Chief Outlaw Hondo and his wife Sally need our support. They have been very active members in our community over the years feeding the hungry from their backyard food pantry and helping their friends and family fight illness. Hondo ran security at the Kerrville Folk Festival for 10+ years and Old Settler's Music festival for many years. He also led the charge for the Austin to Houston Harvey Relief during Hurricane Harvey in 2017. He staffed and led a team at a hub that received/distributed donations, fed and housed volunteers, mucked out homes that had been flooded, and raised money to help survivors.

He started Hondo Presents to showcase local artists in the music scene in connection to Shakespeare's Cove where they collaborated on open-mics and house concerts. He and Shake staffed, built, and tore down VIP kitchens for ACL for over ten years. Needless to say, despite his outlaw exterior, Hondo has a heart for his people and music with Sally always at his right hand. He would give you the shirt off his back. Just don't ask for his underwear.

In December 2023 Hondo suffered a heart attack that led to many heart procedures. Ultimately, these procedures led to a lung cancer diagnosis. The cancer in his lungs is also growing in a lymph node just outside of his lung. He is going to need surgeries along with other cancer fighting treatments to kick cancer's ass.
