Chico's emergency hospital stay
Donation protected
What do you do when you are told that your dog is miraculously recovering after being told to expect worse? Please help us continue his very expensive overnight hospital treatments. I adopted this bonded pair less than 3 years ago and Chico(aka Chicken Wing, Chick, Chickers, Chiclet), my beloved chihuahua on the left, has been recently hospitalized after having a seizure due to a kidney disease. On Monday night of 03/28, one of the Doctors informed us that things had taken a turn for worse because he was not urinating, and his kidney values have gotten worse. He explained there would be no improvement and they were expecting multiple organ failure. He was pushing that we stop treatments as they would not help him improve any further. I believed it as I have been in this exact situation before with the same updates of no improvements and the same calls every few hours. I still decided to continue his treatment for one last night hoping that it was Chico’s stubbornness. He sometimes will not pee unless he absolutely has to while it is raining. We grieved and prepared all night for the hard decision we were going to have to make the next morning. That is when the morning Doctor informed us that he had miraculously improved overnight and that the urinating flood gates had opened. It is imperative to keep him a few more nights but the price has been a very expensive $2000 per night so I have been quickly stretched thin. Any help big or small would be very much appreciated. His brother Gucci really misses him and I really hope we can bring him back to him.
