We are heartbroken to share that our much-loved Chico (Derek) has passed away suddenly while in Germany.

Chico was so many things to so many people, a husband, dad and stepdad, grandad, son, brother, friend but more than anything, he was simply the best man.

He had the kindest soul and would do absolutely anything for anyone. He was a proper wind-up merchant, and he was LOUD, you would always hear him before you saw him. He filled every room he walked into, and being around him just made everything feel lighter.

He is loved so deeply, and his loss has left a huge hole in all of our lives.

Because he passed away abroad, we are now facing the incredibly difficult and unexpected task of bringing him home to the UK, along with arranging his funeral and returning his belongings.

Sadly, Chico did not have life insurance, and the costs involved are far beyond what we can manage on our own.

All we want is to bring him home with dignity and give him the send-off he truly deserves, surrounded by the people who love him.
