The fire erupted without warning at the boundary of Aoi’s property and her neighbor’s land. A gust of wind quickly spread the flames, engulfing half of her plot in a matter of seconds. As the flames closed in, Aoi opened the chicken coop and pigeon cages, giving her animals the best chance of survival, and ran to safety as fast as she could with one rooster under her arm.

Although the main chicken coop survived (thanks to the fire fighters that arrived quickly), the fire caused significant damage on the developed side of the farm. The roofs of the structures melted and require replacements, and the chicken play area, pigeon cages, and cat room need major repairs. Aoi’s essential workhorse vehicle was also destroyed in the blaze. This unfortunate event follows a condo fire last month, which severely damaged Aoi’s residence and led to the loss of crucial medications and farm supplies.

Despite these challenges, Chicken Paradise Hawaii is determined to rise again, and Aoi needs your support now more than ever. Every donation, no matter how small, will contribute to the necessary farm repairs, restocking feed and medications, and providing veterinary care for the injured birds and cats. Together, we can help Aoi restore her beloved farm and continue her mission of caring for all her animals. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
