Chicken Little's Road To Recovery...

Hi, Dejana and Raelyn here! We are reaching out on behalf of our best friend, Rainey, who is Chicken Little's mom.

As of today, Chicken has been diagnosed with a rare mutation of Feline infectious peritonitis.

He is still a kitten and should actively be growing big and strong, but due to this mutated form of FIP, he's severely underweight and unable to find relief from the buildup of fluid in his abdomen. He is due to start treatment tomorrow, with hopes he responds immediately! The treatment is a 12-week series of antiviral medication that is compounded at a special pharmacy. With such a rare mutation, this medication was only recently accessible in the US and comes with a very steep cost due to very few alternative treatment options.

To be proactive with the nature of his current state, we are hoping to be prepared for him to go under anesthesia to drain the fluid, if needed, to slow the buildup causing him an immense amount of pain and discomfort while giving the medication the best chance to work.
