London Calling: Help Chi-Chi Go Study At LAMDA
Donation protected
TL;DR: Help support an amazingly beautiful, skilled, and lovely actor live out her dreams at LAMDA as she pursues an MA in Classical Acting for the Professional Theatre.
Oh hey! My name is Chi-Chi Onuah. I’m an actor, mover, and singer, currently located in Toronto, Canada. However, I will be relocating to London, UK in September because…I was recently offered a place at LAMDA (one of the world’s top 10 acting conservatories) for their program, MA Classical Acting for the Professional Theatre!

FUN FACT: I share a birthday with Barbie!
I am so blessed because one of the greatest resources I have right now is the gift of time, and I want to use up every second I’ve got between now and September to make this a reality.
EXPENSES (Current Rough Estimates)
I have crunched a few numbers, done some research and here are just a few of my major expenses (living costs are TBD):
- Tuition: £28,892 / ~$54,000 CAD
- UK Student Visa: £490 / ~$900 CAD
- Healthcare: £470 / $~900 CAD
HOW I PLAN ON MAKING IT ALL WORK
Here are just a few ideas of how I’m gonna make this dream a reality:
- Grants/Scholarships/Bursaries/Awards/Fellowships/Loans, etc.
I have applied for the limited scholarships and bursaries at LAMDA. I have also reached out to my alma mater (BA Devised Theatre, York University) to see if there are any financial support systems in place for alumni looking to pursue higher education. Additionally, I am in the midst of applying for OSAP grants + loans (Ontario Student Assistance Program), so TBD
- Work
I currently have a Full-Time job that covers my current cost of living and it fortunately also allows me to put away a few coins each month. I am also in the midst of applying to additional jobs for extra income that will be set aside for my tuition fees, UK Student Visa, healthcare, flight travels, future UK expenses, etc.
- Savings
I have slowly been saving for the past few months, so I have some money already put aside for my program deposit
WAYS YOU CAN SUPPORT ME
- Donate (anything and everything truly helps)
- Share this across the socials
- Reach out and send over any knowledge about grants/scholarships/bursaries/awards, etc (I have built a shortlist so far, and eager to grow the list!), any resources/connections, words of wisdom/your favourite Barbie quote/meme
WHY LAMDA
I want to go study at LAMDA because I am a student for life. I love this freeing art form of storytelling so much, and I am excited for the conservatoire-style training. In short: I’m in this for the long haul so I figured I should start fine-tuning my craft, and I cannot think of a better place to train.

Thank you for taking the time to read this! This journey almost didn’t happen because I talked myself out of applying last year, but with some encouragement from my mentor and friend, Ryan G. Hinds, and a bit of a ‘let’s-see-what-happens’ attitude, here we are.
I hope that with my story I can be a bright example of what God can do if you just take that first step, and get out of your head.
