Chicago Gun Violence- Please help us stop this

Donation protected
Hi, I am fundraising for Anthony Cintron.

On Thursday, November 17, Anthony was at a Mobil gas station on the Northside of Chicago and was an innocent victim to gun violence. He parked his car at the gas pump and walked inside to buy an energy drink while he was on his way to play basketball that evening. When Anthony walked out of the gas station, a Caucasian male was patrolling the gas station looking for trouble. Anthony could see the guy wouldn’t stop locking eyes with him.

Anthony decided to get into his car right away since his gut told him something wasn’t right. When Anthony got into his car and began driving off, he turned his head to look behind him and he saw a Hispanic male pull out a gun and that is when Anthony floored the gas to escape.

The Hispanic male shot one round at Anthony’s back driver door and the bullet went through the door, his drivers seat and then landed in his spine between L2 and L3. There is a lot of nerve damage in his spine. I have never in my life seen someone in such pain and agony. Anthony didn’t realize he was shot right away so he crossed Peterson Ave and he couldn’t feel his legs anymore. He threw the car in park since his feet weren’t moving. The car finally came to a stop and Anthony crawled out his car screaming for help. He was worried the offenders were going to chase him down the street.

The caucasian male jumped into a Maroon Honda with the Hispanic male and went west bound on Peterson. While Anthony was driving, he called Gabby and begged her for help. She called 911 immediately and drove down the street frantically looking for Anthony.

This has been such a traumatic experience for Anthony and his family/friends. Anthony does not have health insurance at the moment and we need to get him into rehab ASAP in hopes he can regain strength to walk again. There is movement in his legs but we don’t know any outcomes until rehab begins. His nerves are damaged severely due to where the bullet was lodged.

It is so sad to think that Anthony was a victim when he always keeps to himself. We truly know they targeted the wrong person.

The bullet was removed on Sunday, November 20th. The surgery went well and we truly thank God and the surgeon who operated him. The surgeon had never seen in 30 years a bullet in the location where Anthony had it lodged.

Our biggest focus for doing this Go Fund Me is truly to get him into rehab asap. At this point, I’m less worried about the hospital bills and more worried about getting him into rehab that we can all pitch in for and afford. I appreciate anyone who can donate towards him. Every little bit counts and I just want to see Anthony walking again. I appreciate everyone reading this and for taking the time to help

Praying for his mental, emotional and physical body. This has caused severe PTSD for him and his family.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
