Dee/Chica
You are not just a dog. You are my sanity and my comfort. You are my teacher and my therapist. You make me happy, and I hope I give you all of that in return my Chica.
I didn't plan to get a dog. I knew I couldn't afford the vet bills. However, this girl landed in my lap and I realized she was a big piece to my puzzle. I had to keep her. I wanted her and now we are inseparable. Chica and I are a bonded team.
My name is Dee and I have Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This is something that I have struggled with since early childhood. Only recently after leaving a narcissistic abusive relationship, have I sought out professional help. After a few visits, I have been cleared medically to have a service dog. I did look into organizations to help with that, but I want Chica. In doing that though, it means I am on my own. I was laughed at by one company for wanting a chihuahua as a service dog, however, we are a team. We found each other through the powers that be and we were meant to be together.
My GoFundMe isn't going as planned and I would really like to get her certified as a PTSD Service Dog for myself. I have put in hours doing some of her training but a registered service dog trainer is required to help get her ready. She needs public access training and vest training. This can run up to 5,000.
Not to mention, her yearly health check which runs about $530. Her pet insurance for her age is $50/month through FetchPet. It covers 300, so her appointment would only be 250 but has to be paid upfront then I am reimbursed.
I could really use some help with this. Please share it even if you can't help. Hopefully it reaches enough people so I can make my goal.
