We all know no one wants to watch their child / loved ones or anyone for that matter suffer; my heart breaks every day; 1 of my 4 children are in pain and suffering every day with no relief for years and a feeling there's nothing you can do as a mother to ease the pain

My daughter, 31 yr old single mother of 2 has always known to be hard working, fun loving ,caring, and an active person . Her love for taking care of people landed her a career in the medical field as a Certified Nurses Assistant, which she has enjoyed and dedicated seven+ years of her life to at this time, but as we know all jobs have their hazards.
Unfortunately, my daughter was injured while helping a residents, back in 2013' and as a result of that shes had to have multi x-rays and MRI scans , she missed time with her kids , missed work, rehab several times a day, multiple times a week for several months of physical therapy ; she also had to endure Cortizone shots as a result of her injury to the shoulder and still has pain today. But the pain she endures every day is not because of her incident at work. It's because of the disease. This has also caused her difficulty and a slow decline in doing her daily living activities such as dressing and bathing for example ; her lifestyle has been slowed tremendously also negatively affecting her friendships, social life, and personal life.
Her journey started back in 2013 when the imagery was originally meant to see if there was anything in her shoulder ;but this is when she first became aware of it, when the technician spotted unexpected findings , the Chiari Malformation along with the Syringomyelia in the MRI Imagery.




The doctor insisted that it was small right now , it should cause no problem at this point in time. He suggested that she continue on working and living life and come back to him if symptoms become worse.
So she was told to just sit back and will watch to see what happens.... :/ (not what you want to hear as a concerned young hard-working mother who depends on her body and mind.
My daughter continued to work but as the years carried on , it was filled jwith endless doctor visits, emergency room visits, days and weeks of pain and suffering all while being told there's nothing we can do for you ; and her workload never got any easier and the symptoms worsened , she continue to do the CNA work ,at the same facility,as well as her everyday home life, still suffering in pain every day but continue to work and put a smile on her residence face while still trying to be a pleasant helpful part of the team at her work and home.
As the years carry on 2014 and 2015 she started to develop new symptoms it was hard to identify and pinpoint exactly where they were coming from or what was causing it, but my daughter continue to push through the pain ,work through the pain and spams, the sleepless nights and the symptoms that carried on with no relief from any doctors or any medication.



She spent many months at doctors offices, lots of money on doctor visits and medication,that didn't work! lots of unanswered questions and unanswered problems to her illnesses and the unwillingness of help from the doctors in Connecticut.
Which is why I am reaching out in hopes that I can get assistance and help get guidance in any information possible and raise awareness. As loving an caring as she can be I also know She's known to be very independent and strong headed and strong willed so I know that she likes to keep things private and really does not prefer to ask for help even though it's needed so very deeply.
I'm reaching out as a mother for any help or advice or donations would help ease so much especially with the holiday season upon us and the fact that she has two children she needs to be there for now has the added stress and burden of needing to undergo brain surgery.
Her place of employment for over 5 yrs of commitment released her from working after being told that she was not getting better quick enough and that there was nothing more they could do for her . that she should try to find another job her while still being injured and still in constant pain . Also having 2 small children 10 yr old daughter and 8 yr old son ,having to support she has to fight to make sure they have everything they need too with limited to NO help.
She now has gone out to several separate specialists (out of pocket)for this issue she even went out of her way to travel to New York , Weill Cornell Medical, this past weekend to do a cat scan and MRI of brain with and without contrast an also cervical spine($$$$) all of which has to be paid out of my pocket due to the fact that I am still unable to get in employed due to her disability .so now she subject to the state of Connecticut health insurance which doesn't seem to be very beneficial for much and to top it off She had to go out of state so everything had to have been paid out of pocket .(which she can not afford ) which I know she doesn't have she has been suffering now every day for over three years the symptoms have gotten worse over the last nine months no doctor seems to be paying attention to her I'm hoping that I can reach out to other survivors and other Chiari warriors and help her fight and win this battle for all who suffer!
In hopes of further insight and possible better options that maybe available .
Having to leave early from Connecticut to get to New York for this appointment with the specialist had the misfortune of getting in a car accident , now also being without a vehicle to top everything off, due to the recent winter storm road conditions we're less than favorable at 5:30 in the morning very cold very dark very wet very icy very snowy ... the car was not driveable but her main concern was the fact that she wasn't going to be able to get Christmas shopping done in time for her kids because of all of this



I know she's feeling very broken right now(finds out you have a serious disease it starts affecting your whole life you can barely get through your daily activities she loose job you're still injured you're in pain every day now you lose your vehicle on your way to a doctors appointment that you also can't afford and you know when you wake up in the morning she still has to continue searching for jobs in continuing her life at home with her children every day waking up in pain never sleeping constantly in suffering in silence it's a lot to take in , you feel like you lose your sense of independence just everything seems to be crashing down at once and the world has turned it's back on her and she feels that if she doesn't have bad luck she'll have no luck… :/ ( just sad and no one should feel this )That's no way to live it kills me every day and to make things worse it happens to be around the holiday season which makes it even harder and more stress .
My heart goes out to her and anyone else who has to go through this disease; it doesn't just affect the person it affects everyone around them and their entire life, I want to bring a smile back to my child's face smile and see her shine. I want to see her happy, healthy and living the life she should be at 31. She should be able to live with her children and family happily pain free without letting the Chiari take over !



I'm hoping to raise awareness and/or to raise money for my daughter so that she can have the surgery she needs so desperately and also to be able to have a happy speedy recovery without the stresses of everything else I only want her to think of the positives of having the brain surgery and do it without having to worry about anything but hugs and kisses on the exiting side of the operating room from her kids, family, and loved ones.
