Shortly after Laura’s 30th birthday she decided to proactively begin early breast cancer screening due to family history. Unfortunately, her first mammogram showed abnormal tissue in her left breast, and after a biopsy, it was determined that she has stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma, which has spread to some of her lymph nodes. She was able to qualify for care at UC Davis where she is now beginning weekly chemotherapy to attempt to shrink her tumors before she has surgery.

Anyone who knows Laura knows what a giving and kind soul she is. She is always the first to volunteer to help and has the hardest work ethic of anyone. Due to the intensity of her care, she will unfortunately require time off work. This, along with the costs of her care and travel to Sacramento from Chico, will place a significant financial burden on her. We are hoping that we can raise some money to help alleviate this burden from her so that she can take the time she needs to care for herself and get her body back to where it needs to be to continue her normal lifestyle.
