Cheyyeru River floods in Kadapa, AP, India
Donation protected
On 19/11/2021 Floods left Thousands homeless & killed many people in 10 villages in Rajampet & Nandalur mandals (Kadapa, AP, India). The Annamayya project on Cheyyeru river has turned out to be the sorrow of many in Rajampet Assembly constituency of AP, India.
Agricultural crops in hundreds of acres stood destroyed. Thousands of cattle heads were washed away. Nothing of the household items was left as the deluge gulped them. Homes reduced to rubble. The villagers literally lost everything, except the clothes on their person.
They feel themselves to be "the forgotten people". All this during the pandemic.
Since 20 Nov 2021 we have been receiving heart breaking texts, photos and videos from villages of the devastation caused by the floods - you can see that on the gallery below. If you wish to help flood victims build their homes & lives back, please consider donating to this cause. If you consider to volunteer in any capacity please do. We are working directly and closely with the flood victims. Every penny donated goes directly to homeless & every penny will be accounted transparently.
This page will be updated regularly with the progress and the activities.
We are aiming to raise £50,000 by end of the December which would make a very small but significant contribution to help.
