Chewton Common Playgroup Rainbow Fund

Chewton Common Playgroup is at the very heart of our young community here in Highcliffe. Helen and her team of staff work tirelessly to ensure the children have a varied and enriched experience when attending each session. The nursery is often involved with helping the local community - planting flowers for Highcliffe in Bloom, taking the children to spend time at local care home Barton Lodge, sessions with our local church & providing artwork for the food festival - to name just a few.

Covid-19 has put an even greater financial pressure on an already challenging set up. Helen has been unable to get any government support, and although the playgroup has received its funding for eligible children, the situation has meant that there are no funds left to buy new equipment for the new term. Unfortunately the fashion show which Helen was hosting to help raise funds had to be cancelled due to the current situation and she has also had the added expense of purchasing extra equipment to welcome children back on June 1st.

My son has been at the setting for two and a half years and he has truly benefited from his time at Chewton, an experience I hope will be a great foundation to his time at school when he starts in September. I’ve set up this fundraiser to give something back to the playgroup - to say thank you, and as an investment for the children who will go on to have their early years experience in such a wonderful setting.

I’m looking for donations from other parents and people in the local community who would like to support Chewton Common Playgroup during these tough times - our only early years setting in Highcliffe.

Our little rainbow children can help too! Perhaps your little one would like to raise some money for nursery by doing something? Perhaps a sponsored bike ride or a bake sale or a sponsored Zoom talent show for friends and family? Whatever idea you can come up with (that follows all the Covid-19 guidelines of course!)! UPDATE! Anyone who donates or who has already donated will be automatically entered into a prize draw. If we reach our £1000 target three lucky winners will be selected at random to win one of the following prizes: A facial courtesy of Christchurch Derma Spa, a beauty treatment worth £50 from @justpamperyourself or an afternoon tea box for 2-4 people from Pickled Fig Catering.
