Hi Everybody,
I hate to ask, but we've hit a snag. Our darling little Chewbacca has a UTI, and Seana can tell you from experience that they are excruciatingly painful. He will require surgery to survive and that will cost us a lot of money we don't currently have. Any and all help you can provide is most appreciated, by myself, my wife and our two little fur babies.
Chewie is an adorable loving little pup of 3 years. We rescued him back in Sept. of 2014 and our lives became fuller and happier. He is super sweet with all humans and animals. Seriously, Chewie has yet to meet someone he didnt like, he was even nice to the guy that broke into our apartment last year, though to be fair I would have appreciated him being ferocious in that moment.
Chewie got up this morning and has been unable to evacuate his bladder. There is a blockage preventing him from releasing it. It broke our hearts to watch the little guy circle and raise his leg to try in futility. Seana ran him to the vet, where it initially looked like kidney stones. Thankfully it is only a urinary tract infection. There is some blockage in his urethra that is making it difficult to urinate. However once he was given a sedative he made a miraculous mess for the doctor, with puddles of urine to spare. (Sorry Doc, and thanks). We're still running tests to determine what to do and how to fix him. That is expensive and any help will be greatly appreciated.
After speaking with the Vet myself just now, here is what we know. There are no visible stones, but there does appear to be some see sediment in his urethra. We have a variety of medicines to feed him and will be keeping an eye on him while we wait for results and the next step. We all lost Han last year. Please help us keep our Chewie.
The bill just for today came to about $1000, and we're just getting started on this. Seana and I promise to email you updates with his progress and how money was allocated. Any excess will be donated to Planned Parenthood.
Sincerely,
John and Seana
And Harley Quinn and Chewbacca
