Chewbaca was turned into our local high kill shelter on July 2nd with a possibly broken leg or hip. As soon as his legal hold was up, we brought him into rescue and took him directly to our veterinarian. She discovered his hip was fractured and dislocated and he was in a tremendous amount of pain. He needs to have surgery at our Specialty Vet and our estimate is $3,000. We have him scheduled for their next available appointment which is Wednesday July 8th. Chewbaca is an approximately 3 year old Shih Tzu who weighs 7 lbs. Even in pain, his sweet nature comes through as he gives kisses when you pet him. This adorable boy has many years of joy ahead of him, please help us help him walk again and become the happy dog he is meant to be!
