Chethan was a dear friend to many of us. He endured a tough journey with brain cancer for two years and bade farewell on 20th August 2021. Today (Jan 30 2022) is his 34th birthday. We lost a brilliant mind, beloved son, loving husband, and caring father. He was the one and only child of Babu and Vijaya Mittapalli, and left his legacy with his 4-year-old son.
Many of us remember Chethan for his humbleness, hospitality, sense of humor, and respect towards everyone. He had an insatiable curiosity for knowledge across multiple domains like tech, business, world matters, sports especially cricket and tennis. His academic credentials such as Bachelors at IIIT Hyderabad and MBA at Babson College, Massachusetts speak for his intellectual ability. He was a serial entrepreneur with a strong appetite to change the world and make a difference with successful startups like StartupByte and SocioHub. Despite all his success, he always knew what his priority is: family. When the time came to pick a priority, he sacrificed everything he built in the USA and moved to India for family.
What are the funds for:
My name is Siva Reddy, a friend of Chethan, and I am collecting funds for his memorial on behalf of his parents. From his parents' words, Chethan is an ardent supporter of charity work, especially any activity that uplifts the local communities around him. Every year, he bought books, clothes, and food and donated them to hundreds of children. Now his parents would like to make charity their mission to raise many more Chethans. Through these funds and their personal funds, they would like to do the following activities:
- Support education for underprivileged children and youth.
- Donate books and clothes at local schools
- Improve infrastructure (sanitary etc) at local schools
- Donate water and food at local schools
- Support inventory for the blind
- Health checkups for the old and social activities
- Sports competitions for children and youth
- An eventual library
Some places they already identified to serve are (located in remote places of Tirupati district):
- Navjeevan school and hostel for blind children
- District Primary School
- Mandal Primary Schools
- Navjeevan oldage home
PS: If you ever wondered whether your past contributions to charity work made any difference, I can assure you that these funds will directly impact many lives All activities are personally taken care in the supervision of Chethan's parents.
