Chestnut St Fire Total Loss & Funeral Expenses

On april 20th at approximately 1:40 pm the New Bedford Fire Department responded to a home at 260 Chestnut St. following multiple 9-1-1 calls. On arrival, they encountered heavy fire showing from the upper story. Firefighters used ground ladders to make entry through windows and up an interior stairway. The residents of the home consisted of 2 young children, their parents and grandparents. With a heavy heart unfortunately both grandparents have passed due to this tragedy. As we all can imagine the heartache this family is going thru with the loss of there loved ones they are now left with extreme financial burden.
