Chester’s journey to North Dakota
Donation protected
My name is Lelani Puga and my rescue who is currently on Guam needs your help to fly to his furever home in North Dakota. Chester’s story began last Sept when my son met this sweet and friendly stray almost daily at his bus stop. Chester would meet at the same spot to greet my son while waiting for me to pick him up. He had a severe skin infection and his body was somewhat skinny. We began staying for a few minutes to feed him and also spend some time with. Unfortunately it broke our hearts to leave him everyday as we already had several of our own pets and fosters at home. Luckily a week or so later a wonderful lady named Karli offered to foster Chester and we rescued him immediately a few days later. He was brought to the vet and began treatment for his skin infection, vaccinated and neutered. While in his foster’s care, there was an instant bond between them. Unfortunately, to no fault of his own, we had to find a new foster for Chester due to an unexpected moving situation his foster had to deal with. Chester did have a few hiccups along the way dealing with aggression towards certain male dogs and we were at a loss on what to do. Being shuffled to different homes didn’t help either but I finally had a friend reach out and offered to open her home to Chester. While I had already moved off island I was ecstatic to know that he would be in good hands. For those who are not aware, Guam is home to about 60,000 homeless animals and it is a struggle to find homes for all of them. So I began reaching out on social media to different rescues here in North Dakota (where I’m currently stationed) to find a better opportunity for him to find his furever home. A few days after posting him on several local pet adoption pages, I received a message from a lady who was interested in adopting him. I fully disclosed all the details surrounding his story and she immediately took to him and wanted to know more❤️. So I’m now here trying to raise funds to fly him out to North Dakota. The plan is to fly him out sometime in June which is when his adopter is able to bring him . I’ve attached the quote which includes 2 separate prices. With the shipping of pets off Guam changing all the time unexpectedly, I’d like to be prepared.
Flying via United (Military petsafe)
Option A: $1800 (estimate)
Flying via pet charter
Option B: $3150
The lesser end of the quote will cost roughly about $1800 and depending on the charter availability, the highest end will cost about $3150. If everything goes as planned and if he’s able to fly via United, this will definitely be the better option financially. I thank you all for your time in reading Chester’s story and I hope you find it in your hearts to support him on his journey to his furever home. He definitely deserves this chance and I would be forever grateful.❤️
