Chesed shel emet

Donation protected
Nearly 2 years ago, our husband, brother, father, and grandfather Moshe Aharon Handler, died very unexpectedly.

In a very short time we were forced to come up with a very large amount of amount of money to bury him. With gods help, and very close freinds and family, we were able to give him a proper burial.

In life, our  father was small in stature but was a giant in personality. He loved life and his family.  He was a man who would give the shirt off his back to help another Jew. He lived a life guided by the principals of the torah, which he and our mother taught all of us to live the same way .

He was a living example of "Veahavta rayacha Kamocha" loving your freind like you love yourself.  He loved and was kind to everyone he met. Even those that were often hard to like. Our home was always open for guests. Whatever we had was shared.  No one was ever turned away.

Whenever he heard of a funeral that needed a minyan, he was always the first to volunteer and bring reinforcements, his bar mitzvah aged sons. He truly believed in doing chesed shel emet, a act of kindness where one expects no reward. Going to a funeral and burying the dead with dignity is considered a chesed shel emet. And he was always happy to have opportunities to do this kind of chesed.

Due to the suddenness of his passing, there was not a lot of money for his headstone. At this time there is a nearly $2,500.00 balance. It pains us greatly that we are unable to pay for our husband, father , and grandfathers final debt.

As his second yahrtziet approaches we are reaching out to freinds and family to help pay off this debt. Knowing that our fathers grave is paid for will bring us a measure of comfort. While we can't bring him back,  we can take comfort in knowing that he is buried with the same respect and dignity that he helped others be buried in.

We thank everyone who can donate. And we treasure the friendships we have with you.

Thank you for your help relieving this burden. And being there in our time of need.
