Cheryl's Path to Mobility: Skin Removal Aid

Hi everyone, my name is Cheryl Reed, I am 52 years old. At the beginning of my journey I was over 600lbs. For years I have watched and researched weight loss programs that assisted people that was super obese. When my weight caused me to lose my mobility due to osteoarthritis in both of my knees causing unbearable pain and me to end up on a walker and in a wheelchair. I had made the decision to have weight loss surgery. I had gotten the gastric sleeve in hopes of helping with my weight loss. Before the surgery, I was on multiple blood pressure medications and multiple diabetic medications. I had been working for over 25 years in childcare, until it came to the point where it was too hard to get on the floor and run around with the children. My orthopedic all but told me my knees was bone on bone. Unfortunately, it had gotten so bad I have to use a bedside commode because I am unable to make it to the restroom in time. Although the surgery was a success I came to a halt with my weight loss.

In 2024 I went to see a weight management doctor, to see if I could get help with losing more weight. I started on mounjaro and now I'm down to 350lbs. I now have an issue with skin. There is so much skin hanging from my stomach, arms, and in between my legs that it is causing sores and a odor. Every time I get up my stomach sways and cause me to be off balance and fall. The creases in my arms are hurting due to the skin being stretched causing cuts. I am now experiencing very bad back pain because of the pulling and swaying of the skin. I have been told that I am a good candidate for skin removal surgery. I was told the skin removal surgery is a cosmetic procedure and insurance will not cover it. I have lost over 200lbs and I am asking for your help with getting skin removal surgery so I can further my life.

This will help me become independent and making my mobility better. I will be able to do things with my small grandchildren and be able to attend their school activities as well as, go to stores without needing a riding chair. I've come so far within my journey and I would love to continue to see the greater outcome ❤️.
