Hello, my name is Mark Edwards and I recently lost my beloved wife Cheryl. Cheryl and I had been happily married for 19 years and had just completed a move to a new home when she suffered a fatal brain hemorrhage. I lost my soulmate in a matter of hours. Cheryl touched the lives of many friends and family members. Keeping her memory alive to all those she touched is important to all of us.

One of our most treasured annual traditions was attending the Minnesota State Fair. Cheryl loved the art displays and the 4H projects. She also cherished spending time with her grandkids there, and shared in their delight and curiosity over the many attractions, especially Little Farm Hands. Of course she also enjoyed all of the delicious food offerings, including walleye-on-a-stick from Giggle’s Campfire Grill.

Because of Cheryl’s tremendous love of the fair, what better way to honor her memory than by placing a bench on the fairgrounds with her name on it. In this way, we can create a lasting memory for family and friends and also contribute to the Minnesota State Fair Foundation.

The cost of a bench is $2,500. With your contributions, we can have the bench ready for the 2023 “Great Minnesota Get-Together,” as the fair is affectionately known. Any additional funds raised will be donated to a cause dear to Cheryl, the Alexandra House.

Cheryl would be honored to be remembered in this way, and all of her loved ones will appreciate the chance to sit and remember her at the fair!
