Cheryl’s Covid Recovery Cost Campaign

Cheryl Longfellow, a COVID-19 Registered Nurse at Singing River Health System's Ocean Springs Hospital, is in critical condition in her own intensive care unit and desperately needs your help.  Cheryl, who has been a nurse for over 20 years, found herself in an incomparable position this year: she became a frontline RN during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.  As COVID-19 plagued the country, Cheryl stepped up as one of the many frontline heroes serving the nation during this time.  She bravely entered the unknown by caring for patients in a newly established COVID-19 intensive care unit.  During times of fear and confusion, Cheryl was unwavering in her compassionate care of critically ill COVID-19 patients.  But this isn't anything new for Cheryl.  Her commitment to her patients knows no bounds, even going so far as to taking a homeless patient's clothes to her house to wash and carefully fold so this patient had clean garments for discharge the next day.  
In an unfortunate turn of events, this brave, compassionate, caring, and dedicated RN has found herself fighting for her life in the place she calls home--the Medical ICU at Ocean Springs Hospital. Cheryl fell victim to the virus she so fiercely waged war upon for her patients.  At this time, Cheryl is on full life support and being cared for by her friends and coworkers. Her critical care team has fought valiantly for her life, but she still needs your help.  In addition to being an essential part of the MICU critical care team, Cheryl is the sole caregiver of her 16-year-old granddaughter, a 10th-grade student at Ocean Springs High School. We are asking you to help in any way you can to cover the costs of her medical bills, routine expenses, and to provide relief to her family who are traveling from varying distances to be there for this amazing woman.
